Election Commission Meeting

January 17, 2009

Minutes

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Henley at 10:00 a.m. The Pledge

Of Allegiance was recited.

Roll Call: Supervisor Barb Henley–Present, Treasurer Charles Stoll- Present, Clerk Lewis Irby Jr.-Absent.

Treasurer Stoll stated a point of information. Stoll recommended that the Board notify the Clerk to find out why the Milan Area Schools and the Dundee Schools have not been billed or have not paid their last election expenses. Treasurer Stoll thanked Mr. Lee for bringing this to his attention. Stoll will be looking into the London Township school election reimbursement status.

Motion by Stoll, supported by Henley, to accept the agenda as presented.

New Business

1.) Selection of Election Workers.

Deputy Clerk Cleggett supplied a list of eight election workers to work the February 24, 2009 Milan School Bond Election. The list of available workers read as follows: Barbara Cunningham, Shirley Hnidy, Rosemary McCrea, Beverly Muzzin, Christine Jackson, Emma Matias, Theodore O’Dell, and Tawana Lee.

Motion by Stoll, supported by Henley, move to approve the eight individuals to work the February 24, 2009 Milan School Bond Election (workers; Barbara Cunningham, Shirley Hnidy, Rosemary McCrea, Beverly Muzzin, Christine Jackson, Emma Matias, Theodore O’Dell, and Tawana Lee).

Henley-Yes; Stoll-Yes; Motion Carried

Deputy Clerk Cleggett added to appoint a chairperson and co-chairperson to the agenda.

Motion by Stoll, supported by Henley, to suspended the normal order of the agenda.

2.) Appoint a Chairperson and Co-Chairperson

Rosemary McCrea was appointed Chairperson and Theodore O’Dell was appointed Co-Chairperson.

Motion by Stoll supported by Henley, to appoint Rosemary McCrea as Chairperson and Theodore O’Dell as Co-Chairperson

3.) Discuss election workers schedule for February 24, 2009

Seven of the approved election workers will work a full day, Shirley Hnidy will work a relief shift from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Citizen’s Time: Opened at 10:15 a.m. One comment regarding the approval of the October 7, 2008 Election Commission Meeting Minutes was received.

Motion by Stoll, supported by Henley, to table the approval of the October 7, 2008 Election Commission Meeting Minutes until our next Election Commission meeting.
